Yakima Valley Fire Adapted Communities Coalition

A fire adapted community is a community that is working to prepare for, respond to, and recover from wildfire. It incorporates people, buildings, businesses, infrastructure, cultural resources, and natural areas into the preparedness effort. Fire Adapted Communities (FAC) take a collaborative approach that connects all who play a role in wildfire education, planning, and action with comprehensive resources to help reduce risk before, during, and after wildfire.

Yakima County Fire Adapted Community Coalition increases and sustains wildfire resiliency by working together, empowering people, providing education, supporting partnerships in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from wildland fire for and with the people in Yakima County.
