There are many things to consider after a wildfire. Personal safety is always the top priority.
Wildland fire can change how fast water runs off of landscapes that have been burned. Some areas are eligible to waive the usual 30-day waiting period for flood insurance coverage.
After a fire is declared “contained” by the Incident Management Team, there is a specific window open for buying flood insurance.
